I can't say that I agree. Television is bad alot of the time yes, my own
parents keep telling me that the sole purpose of television is to sell
you junk. But I don't believe that all of television is that bad. There
are plenty of informational channels and news stations which I try to
stay away from that keep the 9 to 5 people up to date on the world around
them. Also, although I will frequently run away whenever my parents turn
to this channel, the history channel is a valuable source of world
history. Plus, there are some very funny shows which brighten up people's
day, though I will not name the one's I like lest I be judged for taste
:-) I won't go into the movie situation because A: you might have just
been adressing tv and I'd rather not waste my time trying to stand up for
something that stands perfectly well on it's own, and B: my internet time
runs short and I'd like to get this mailed off before it diminishes
completely. So I will admit that books are a much better medium of
intelligence and are much more thought provoking then staring at a
television, but I say television can be helpful and useful in the world
today, though we all could probably benefit from losing so many Coke and
"Mickey D" ads...
