Hmm.
I have a problem. I truly do not believe I was being rude to Holly.
Emphatic, yes, but not rude.
Evidently, thanks in part to the fact that I am not a writer, and don't have
a great facility with words, I did give offense.
For that, I'm sorry. In fact, Holly, since you're upset, I offer to leave.
In case I'm informed I'm grandstanding or something, I'm not. I only want
to know if Holly would feel the list was better served if I left. I'd miss
it, but I will also understand.
I tend to be brusque. I am well aware of that. Believe it or not, I
actually do read my posts over again before I send them. I even edit them.
I'm unwilling to shave off my opinion (one of my best friends refers to me
as her own pet conversational juggernaut), but I do try to word it without
deliberate offense.
If I misinterpreted what you said, Holly, my apologies. What I read from
your earlier posts seemed to me that what I said you thought was true.
Evidently not. I am *well* aware of how frustrating it is when people think
you've said something you haven't.
The offer stands. I only want to hear Holly's opinion. It's her list. It
was her who felt that misquoted. Regardless of what I have done else, I've
blundered into a position where I've made someone feel abused by my words.
I'm willing to rectify that.
