re last lines of original message, cries of 'when is the next book coming out'
should make you feel admired (can't find the word I really want to use), not
like a heel. Deadlines are for the dead (or soon to be snuffed). Good timing
for me; recently finished Diplomacy of Wolves (bought it ages ago, but was
waiting for 2nd in series). Cliffhanger! Agggh!. How about ending the next
cliffhanger with someone splatted at the bottom of a true cliff? Or has that
been done to death? Perhaps have someone fall up a cliff? Signing off before
babbling bug bites me.

I'm eager to hear your response.  I've been impatiently awaiting
feedback on the book since the day I mailed the final version -- now
maybe I'll get to hear something.

And speaking of your character, at this point you've dodged the
damned bullets and are still alive.  No telling how long you'll stay that
way, or even if, like Ron Jarrell, you'll survive to book again.  Some
of the folks are dead.  I won't say which . . . that would be telling.
They died bravely, though.

Yup.  Though once I finish the damned thing I might have a secret
file on the web page and post a couple of chapters just for the folks
who read this list to check out.  I don't think I'll be doing anymore
true trilogies -- stand-alones are more fun to write, and more fun to
get mail on.  I've had several plaintive "when is the next book coming
out, I'm dying over here?" e-mails lately.  Makes me feel like a heel.
