NetHack is the current version; available for just about any computer,
including the Amiga :-).

Beware: it will suck your brain out of your body. Graduate careers have been
destroyed by that game. Almost everyone I know (myself included) has lost
hundreds or even thousands of hours of their lives playing that game. It is
addictive, it is long, and it is full of random deaths that make you start
over again. "Just one more game" or even "Just one more level" is a commonly
heard expression at 4AM among Hack players.

And there's 5 or 6 variants on the game floating around; moria, omega, rogue
(the original, actually), larn, etc.

IOW, If you want to write again anytime soon, give it a pass :-)
