This was a case of Wizards of the Coast putting stories and articles from old
Dragon magazines, among other sources, into a publicly accessible electronic
database, without first requesting permission from the original authors. WotC
claimed compilation copyright allowed this, and the first court agreed; on
appeal, that decision was overturned.
