I made a generalization here last month and I have to come back and finish what I started in regards to the ebay crit. :)

After Holly and the others went too high for my budget, in spite of what I'd said about not wanting to have someone I didn't know crit, I went through the websites of the authors who seemed 'under-appreciated' by the bidders until I found one that I thought seemed nice. 

in spite of her not being a SF/F author, she was very helpful to me.  -encouraging in many ways and critical where it was needed.  She went far beyond the 1st crit in helping me correct some problems and even suggested some markets for me which I hadn't considered.

and Holly, I am laughing and laughing about the counting and proverbs in Tonk in regards to memorizing Tolkien's glossaries.  That's good stuff.  We actually speak a bit of Quenya in my house and last year I had the boy scout pack going around spouting some catch phrases.  We've had a lot of fun with it.
